Google Open DNS

It looks like there is a problem with the DNS at demon.co.uk and given that when there service works it is great but when it doesn't it can take ages to get a helper monkey to acknowledge that the problem isn't at your end but theirs. As a result I have moved to using Google's public DNS. Of note is that their privacy policy in this instance is quite good, given that Google's business model is generally to monetize personal data. The delete temporary logs (containing IP addresses) within 24 hours and do not log personally identifiable information in the permanent logs, although there is broad, geographical information kept in the permanent logs for data mining purposes.

How did I end up with yet another home on the web?

Mainly because another blog that I run got a spam trackback from simonwells.blogspot.com which didn't appear to exist. So I created it to use for myself.
